Prepare for Arrival

Once you have been admitted to Snow College and followed the initial four steps outlined here, then you can move ahead to this next stage in the process. When you get to this point, you should have had your visa interview and successfully secured your student visa. Congratulations on getting to this stage in the process!

Use our handy checklist below to help you stay organized as you prepare to study in the United States.

1. Submit your info to Snow College

Submit your student visa information to Snow College and make your travel arrangements.

Submit Visa Information

Please email us ude.wons@lanoitanretni and tell us the results of your visa interview when you have successfully received your visa.

If your visa interview did not go well and your visa was denied, you will need to defer your admission and receive a new I-20. You can choose to get reimbursed for your enrollment deposit (minus a small administration fee), or you can carry it forward towards your future tuition payments and use it to secure your space at Snow College once you have your visa.

You may reapply for an F-1 student visa within a 12-month period, without having to pay the SEVIS fee again. Please review the U.S. Government Visa Denials webpage and contact us immediately and we will do our best to help you reapply.

Submit travel information

Let us know when you are arriving in Utah so we can help you settle in. You can book an airport transfer using our request form, and learn more about how to travel to Ephraim, Utah.

Submit final transcripts

If you are admitted to Snow BEFORE official graduation, you will need to submit your final transcript to the Center for Global Engagement as soon as possible. Students may do this through one of the following ways:

  • Email your official transcript to international@inkatana.com.
  • Bring a copy to orientation in an envelope sealed by your high school.

Failure to submit final high school transcripts may prevent a student from registering for courses and/or receiving financial aid.

2. Make note of key dates for your arrival

Choosing your arrival date

You cannot enter the U.S. on your F1 visa earlier than 30 days before your program start date shown on your I-20 or DS-2019. If you arrive earlier than 30 days beforehand, you may be denied entry to the United States.

Please be sure to arrive in time to attend International Student Orientation, which is mandatory!

 

Important dates for your calendar

For Spring Semester 2025 enrollments:

  • Enrollment deposit due: December 1, 2024.
  • On-Campus Move In Dates are January 4 and 5 (exact times TBD). Students arriving early should plan to stay in a hotel or Airbnb.
  • Immigration Check In and Orientation will be held on Monday January 6 at 9:00 am.
  • Classes will begin on Wednesday January 8.

For Fall Semester 2025 enrollments:

  • Enrollment deposit due: July 1, 2025.
  • On-Campus Move In Dates: Tuesday August 19 and Wednesday August 20 at 6:30 pm. Students arriving early should plan to stay in a hotel or Airbnb.
  • Immigration Check In: Thursday August 21 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • Orientation will begin on Friday August 22 at 9:00 am.
  • Classes will begin on Monday August 25.

 

What to bring with you and what to expect

Immigration Check In:

Please bring your passport, visa, and I-20 to the Immigration Check In. Students unable to attend the Immigration Check In must schedule a separate time with the Center for Global Engagement.

You can come to the Greenwood Students Center from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to bring your documents and ask any questions you may have. Also, if you ordered bedding you can pick up your package and take it back to your room.

We will offer transport to Walmart at 11:00 am to purchase food and supplies for your accommodation. Meet in the Center for Global Engagement for a ride.

Student Orientation:

Please bring your passport, visa, and I-20 when you arrive for Orientation at the Center for Global Engagement on campus.

If your schedule prevents you from attending Orientation, you must notify our office before orientation. If you do not make arrangements with us, you will be charged a fee of $75 and possibly void your admission to Snow College.

3. Secure your Housing

Snow College has dorms, suites and apartments. Living on campus gives you the most authentic college experience and will help you adjust to American culture. Plus, you’ll be an easy 10 minute walk away from anything you need on campus.

Once you've booked your housing, you can also fill in our Bedding Request Form.

Please note that students do not have a guaranteed reservation until their $250 deposit fee is paid and the housing application is complete.

4. Register for classeS AND ORDER BOOKs

Class schedules

New students have a “Registration Hold” added immediately upon admission, requiring them to meet with an Academic Advisor and set up an education plan before they can register for classes.

Class registration is managed via the Snow College Advisement Office. There are many educational resources you can explore on the advisement website.

Course materials and textbooks

Once you have chosen your classes, you can order your textbooks from the College Bookstore. It’s best to do this prior to your arrival to ensure you have what you need before classes begin. Please note that textbooks are not sold on campus. The earlier you order, the more chances you will have to find the best deals and ensure your books arrive on time. We recommend that you order at least 3-4 weeks before the term begins.

When you order online, you can have everything delivered to campus in advance, and then you can collect them from the Bookstore. Digital resources and all-inclusive access materials will be provided via Canvas, our online learning system.

5. Set up a payment plan or pay in full

Reminder alert! Tuition, fees, housing, and meal plan charges are required to be paid in full, or have a payment plan set up within 5 days of the start of each semester.

When making your budget and planning for the future, as you review your total costs to attend Snow, be sure to factor in any scholarships you may receive.

Review costs and scholarships

 

International students who are on a scholarship that will cover tuition and fees in addition to the International Student Scholarship must provide a Financial Guarantee or Scholarship Award Letter to the Center for Global Engagement before the tuition deadline. If you have not provided proof of scholarship by that deadline, you will be responsible for all charges to your account. If scholarship funds become available after the deadline, Snow College will resubmit a tuition invoice for reimbursement. Any funds remaining in the student’s account will then be refunded to the student.

If you are having difficulties, please come and talk with us before the deadline. Once the deadline has passed and fees are owed, there is not much we can do to help you.


Payment deadlines and policies

To streamline the administrative process, the fees owed will include your tuition, on-campus housing if applicable, and meal plan – all costs are bundled together into one payment procedure for your convenience.

Students should come prepared to pay all costs before or during Orientation.

Tuition and fees are due each semester by the fifth calendar day after the first day of class. Students must pay their fees in full by that date, or enroll in the Payment Plan.

For example, here are the important dates for Fall Semester 2025 enrollments:

  • Enrollment deposit of $500 is due by July 1, 2025 latest.
  • Orientation will begin on Friday August 22, 2025 at 9:00 AM.
  • Classes will begin on Monday August 25, 2025.
  • Payment is due by Saturday August 30, 2025.

Students are not allowed to register for classes or add/drop classes if they have a balance due on their account after the tuition deadline has passed. If a student is not registered for classes, they are considered “out of status” and cannot attend a class they are not officially registered for.

You have two options for making payments:

  • Pay the entire balance in one payment.
  • Or follow Snow College’s Payment Plan:
    1. Average deposit (or down payment which is typically 33%): $2,400
    2. Average monthly payment: estimate $1,600 per month

Tuition payment processes: How to pay

Snow College has partnered with Flywire and PayMyTuition to help international students transfer their funds. Each offers competitive currency exchange rates and enable you to track your payment. You can also open a U.S. bank account to manage your finances while living in the America.
